FAQs
What is the process for getting a divorce?
The divorce process begins with filing an application, which can now be done online. Once the application is approved, there is a waiting period before a final order is granted.
How are financial settlements decided?
Financial settlements are determined based on factors such as income, property, assets, and the needs of both parties, including any children involved. Our barristers can help negotiate or argue for a fair settlement.
How long does it take to resolve a divorce and financial settlement?
Divorces typically take a minimum of six months, while financial settlements may take longer, depending on the complexity of the case and whether court involvement is required.
What happens if we cannot agree on financial arrangements?
If an agreement cannot be reached, the matter may be resolved through court proceedings. Our barristers are experienced in presenting cases effectively to secure favourable outcomes.
